The 2015 Group are hopeful of striking a deal to buy the club with administrators Leonard Curtis in the next 48 hours as they move quickly to end the administration hell.
The Group, named on the base of a ‘5-year business plan’ for the club, was made up by Protest March organiser Dave Schofield – though I believe he will take a role in the consortium similar to the one Melrose took in his consortium.
Once a deal is agreed with John Titley and Paul Reeves, the administrators of the club, and Cheshire Sports over a lease for the stadium, the group will go before the Football League in hope of getting the green light to take-over the club – a process which Melrose and his lot have found so difficult in the past 10 months.
The consortium is made up of ‘Lord’ Peter Snape, Mary and Tony Gibbons and County’s Chief Executive from last season Sean Connelly,
