Ablett Still Not Happy With 2015 Silence

Despite a short statement of sorts from 2015 Group representative Sean Connolly, manager Gary Ablett is still unhappy with the silence from the group on the Liverpudlian’s future with the club.

Connolly had said that ‘the group had been advised by their legal team to not speak to Mr Ablett or his staff’, but that they would update Ablett as soon as they gained control of the club.

Ablett had earlier complained of the lack of communication from the group, and regardless of the almost apologetic statement from Irishman Connolly, the 44 year-old is still disappointed.

‘If they don’t include me in their plans, fine. I’ll move on. If they do, we can get on with planning.’

‘We’re miles behind in terms of where we need to be for pre-season.’

The manager who has overseen just 5 league wins this season for County also reckons that it’s ‘grossly unfair’ for him to decide on the future of SCFC’s out-of-contract players while he is still uncertain about his.

‘Obviously, you’ve got the problem for the majority of players here at this football club who are out of contract in the summer.’

‘I’ve had people knocking on the door already and it’s unfair of me to make a decision on someone’s future if I’m not going to be here myself.’

Speaking for myself, while I feel for Ablett, the quotes from Mr Connolly did come across as ‘Thank you, goodbye and good luck with future endeavours Mr Ablett…’
