Gary Ablett admits he’s in the dark over a take-over from the 2015 Group and has not been contacted by any of the consortium about his job and ‘what’s going on’ at EP.

Ablett has been in the EP hot-seat since July of 2009, and strong rumours all over the place indicate that he could very well be out of the job before his 12th month at the club, with Jim Gannon’s name being thrown around every day of the week.

And the 44-year-old says he’s worried for his future at Edgeley Park, and that he has plans for next year but that ‘they are all in the pipeline’ until the consortium take-over and let him know where he stands.

‘I don’t know who is involved with the new consortium and no one has been in touch to speak to either me or any senior member of the coaching staff in terms of our positions.’

‘Until someone does it’s a very worrying time for us all. I want to plan for next year but until someone comes and tells me what’s going on then I’m not going to bother.’

‘Everything is in the pipeline but I won’t push the button to go until someone tells me what’s going on. It would be nice to know where we all stand in their plans for the future.’

You really can’t help but feel sorry for the man. As he’s said, it would be interesting to see how he fares on a ‘level playing field’ – but it’s just too big of a risk for us to take. Maybe he’ll turn out to be a good manager with another club, but it appears that his time here’s coming to an end. And I do feel pity for him, but there’s no room for us to be sentimental etc.

My sentiments exactly. Best of luck for the future Gary, you were never given a chance but showed character to stick it out to the end. If you are here next season then best of luck… we’re gonna need it I suspect.
