Bramble Joins The Injury List?

Jim Gannon could be missing Tes Bramble on Saturday after he arrived at training on Monday with a groin injury.

Bramble has injured his groin before and the injury could be a recurrence of an earlier injury.

Nothing is definite though, as Tes had the whole week to battle the injury and prepare himself for Saturday’s huge game at Lincoln.

Meanwhile it looks like Rob Clare should be available for Saturday, but Michael Raynes looks set to miss out once again because a concussion requires longer to recover from.

However, Jim Gannon remains upbeat about his players chances of the play-offs.

Speaking to the Stockport Express, County boss Jim Gannon said: ‘My players know not to get too carried away when we’re winning and not to get too disappointed when we’re losing.

‘I’ve got a lot of faith in my players. They are very young and are maturing nicely, and I’ve got a lot of belief in them. They will be a good team.

‘What we need now is for players to be nice and strong and see the season out.’

Gannon says this ahead of two tough games in three games, as County visit Lincoln City on Saturday before Chester visit Edgeley Park on Easter Monday for the first of two local derbies in six days as County visit Macclesfield the following Saturday.

‘This weekend could have a huge bearing on the situation at the top. But by next week we could still be in exactly the same position only with four games to go.

‘I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re still in the same position in a week’s time.

‘We’ve not really talked about automatic promotion lately, but given current form and the injuries we’ve had I would say it would be very difficult for us to mount a charge for the top three again now.

‘At present we’re just looking to pick things up and get going again.

‘But you wouldn’t like to be doing the pools at this stage of the season. The scramble and desperation for points means that all kinds of results will emerge between now and the end of the season.’
