Prospective Managing Director of the 2015 Consortium Sean Connolly has reassured County fans that a decision and an update on manager Gary Ablett’s future will be made ASAP.

Ablett had complained of a lack of communication between himself and the group about the Scouser’s future at the club after the horrendous season we’ve endured backed up by the 6-0 defeat last weekend – but Irishman Sean Connolly has promised that although the group have been ‘advised not to speak to the County staff just yet’, a swift decision would be made once the group are in power at the club.

‘It has not been easy given the legal limbo we are in and the fact that we have no rights in relation to the club until our bid is accepted.’

‘We have been advised by our legal people and by the administrator that we cannot approach any member of staff. For this reason, we have not spoken to Mr Ablett and will not until we are empowered to do so. We will speak with all staff members as soon as we are in a position to do so.’

‘Most of the material that is needed to place before the Football League has now been prepared or submitted.’

Connolly, showing more professionalism and common courtesy to the fans that Mr Melrose and his crew showed in a year, also provided County fans with a time-line update of how the group is progressing.

‘Our first full meeting of shareholders and potential shareholders takes place this Thursday.

‘The next day, Friday, is the red letter date on which we shall submit the final bid to the League. We feel we have done all we can to prepare a good bid. We remain very hopeful that it will be successful.

‘Without trying to pre-judge the Football League`s decision-making process, we have begun to think forward to actions that will need to be taken in a very short time.’

‘Until that time we have no influence over the performance of the club, either on or off the playing field.’

‘This is not ideal given that work on next season should be well in hand by now.’

‘But we have worked very quickly in the past few weeks and intend to do so again when our bid is accepted.’

Come on you, erm…2015’ers.

That may be so but there are ways and means to contact and re-assure Gary.
To me this looks like a nailed on “Thanks for all your efforts Gary and good luck for the future”
