County have placed bids for Bury striker Ryan Lowe, Halifax striker Jamie Yardy, and Accrington midfielder Sean McConville.

Lowe, who had a loan-spell with The Hatters in 2007/08, was the top scorer in League Two last season as Bury won promotion to League One – and director Tony Evans has wasted no time getting down to business at EP as he lodged a £100k bid for the 32-year-old this morning.

Bury fired back by saying that they had received a ‘laughable’ offer for Low and rejected it straight away. No word yet on whether new manager Didi Hamann will be going back in for the forward.

Highly-rated Accrington Stanley midfielder Sean McConville, 22, is training with County at Manor Farm ahead of a proposed transfer – in the region of £70-90k. McConville almost signed for SCFC from Skelmersdale the day we entered administration, but the move was aborted.

Halifax attacker Jamie Vardy, who struck 23 goals in 13 matches last season for his side, is subject to a £55k bid from Hamann and Evans.

And finally, RTE report that Hamann has sealed his first transfer for the club with the capture of left-back Joe Kendrick Jr on a three-year deal for a ‘nominal fee.’

Hamann was a panellist for RTE Sports in Ireland, and it is reported that he was convinced the Bray Wanderers defender to join his ‘revolution’ at Edgeley Park.

Bit ambitious trying for Lowe but I like his thinking, obviously he wants our stay in the Conference to be a short one.

Well, despite my worries we have owners who will drop us deep in the mire, they seem to be talking the talk and indeed beginning to walk the walk.
