County Board Expanded

Stockport County have announced two new board members have joined.

Richard Park (he of the potato business) and Jon Keighren (he of the dulcet tones in the Pure 107.8 FM commentary box).

Now, I think we all know JK is County to the core, so on that score I am happy. He acts as communications director. If that means no more clumsy and antagonistic statements from LPS then I’m all for it.

I am led to believe RP is a long standing County fan too. He will bring business nous. And better chips perhaps?

What is not clear to me is whether these appointments are executive director roles? Have JK and / or RP injected money into the club in return for a shareholding?

Another thing that stands out for me is that our expanded board is now quite large.

Do we assume there will be a couple of people leaving?

JK does the communication?
RP does more of the day to day running?

One can only wait and see I guess. And hope

(It was rumoured that Steve Bellis, he of midget gem fame in the 90’s and experience in the far east was to return to the club. I wonder if there’s room for one more on the board? )
