County complain about Rovers farce

Stockport County are to make an official complaint to the Football League surrounding the farce that occurred at Bristol Rovers on Saturday.

The referee postponed the game at 12:30pm, despite County staff being there from 10:30am and knowing the pitch was perfectly playable.

Rumours have flown round, and messages have been received, stating that Rovers supposedly wanted the game off – and the pitch was doctored to standards that would be deemed unsuitable by the referee.

On arrival at the ground Jim Gannon was fuming, and County will be taking the matter further.

The re-arranged date is Tuesday March 20th, which splits up two vital home games against Hartlepool and Rochdale.

It also means County face three horror away trips in March, Barnet, Torquay and Bristol Rovers.

Coincidentally, I’ve received no replies to any of the e-mails I sent to the Football League, the FA or Bristol Rovers.

By the way, the picture above isn’t a picture from Saturday, though I’m sure some people might like to use it for evidence.
