County face Forest Green Rovers

So County have another chance to secure back to back wins and who knows, embark on a winning streak. Had to look up the definition of ‘winning streak’, my memory is not what it was. Once again I am going to stick my neck out and predict a home win by just 1 goal to nil in front of a smidge over 3,000 spectators at Edgeley Park.

Not that FGR are mugs – a away record of 2 wins, 5 draws and only one defeat scoring 11 goals would suggest they are decent on their travels.

I would assume Ryan Fraughan will play some part. Back from injury and on the bench for the game at Bath he will be a welcome addition to midfield. Mark Lynch must start again too, a player I thought Didi had ‘binned’ and a player subject to much criticism last season. By all accounts though Lynch was impressive at Bath.

So are things looking up? The injury list is beginning to reduce. Chadwick is scoring (though still missing a fair number of chances each game – then what do we expect – this is the world of NON-league football). We kept a clean sheet. Surely the punters at Edgeley Park are way, way overdue for a decent victory?

If only County would adopt a slightly more direct style of play? Maybe tomorrow will see a change of maybe our midfield pass, pass, pass, lose possession will be punctuated by the odd killer pass into the box?

What ever happens it looks like the weather will be mild and sunny (blame BBC weather if this does not happen), Gold Bond participants can get entrance for a tenner and kids cheaper providing proof of ID can be produced. Do turn up early though if you are taking advantage of this rare promotion for the club (well done County for that).

Looking forward to County edging towards mid-table at 5:45 tomorrow with another three points and a clean sheet and the sound of Didi Hamann’s blue and white army echoing around the streets off Hardcastle Road. Or something.

p.s. The poll, bottom right, at the moment would suggest Hamann has the support of the majority of Vital County readers. Get your vote in. Poll closes next Thursday.
