Stockport County take on Nuneaton Town tomorrow hoping to get back-to-back victories after beating Forest Green in the previous home game.

Darije Kalezic will take charge of his first game against the side that are 22nd, knowing that a defeat could see County slip into the relegation places – but a win could see County move as high as 15th depending on other results.

County are just 12 points off 6th placed Luton and a good run of results with a few home games coming up could see County climb the table.

Vital Quotes:

County’s new assistant manager Stuart Watkiss
“We all want to play attractive football, skilful passing football, but sometimes teams don`t let you do that,” Watkiss said.

“We have to play effective football – if that`s passing then great but sometimes we might have to mix it up a bit, get it forward into the strikers and get the midfield playing off them.

“We have to come up with a formation and style that suits the players we`ve got and we will. It`s going to be a challenging three months but we`re up for the battle.”

Stockport County Team News:

Sam Sheridan and Joe Connor are likely to miss through injury.

Alex Meaney may be in contention to start, Jon Macken could be on the bench with the other two loanees likely to start.

Richard O’Donnell should keep his place in goals, whilst the captain’s armband should stay with James Tunnicliffe.

Player to watch: Jon Macken

Once signed for £5 million Macken is the man to watch – can he make a difference for Stockport County?

Nuneaton Town Team News:

Keeper Ben McNamara has been slated for his performance and is set to lose his place to Coventry City youngster Lee Burge.

Winger James Dance, brought in on loan from Luton Town, is set to make his debut against County.

Player to watch: Lee Burge

A young goalkeeper making his debut will be under pressure tomorrow, he could make himself a Nuneaton hero tomorrow though!

Match Odds

Stockport County are 5/6 favourites to pick up the victory – we think that is an absolute certainty tomorrow.

Here’s hoping this is a new start. A few wins could see us fly up the table and who knows ? possible play-offs ? I think i’m getting carried away but strange things can happen.

I know what you are saying Dave, it is a very tight league and there is a chance if we go on a spectacular run.

We won it, just but it will lift the spirits and give a little more confidence to the players. Still slack at the back though need to tighten up there also how to cope when we do go a couple of goals to the good as we seem to implode when we do. Dare I say 3 points from the next game against Wrexham, would be nice, this one will be a test.

For once the trip home down the motorway was full of smiles and chat. However as you say vicman our defence is a nightmare. If they play like that at wrexham we will be punished. Nolan immense again, he will be a key player for us if we can keep hold of him.
