Lincoln City striker Simon Yeo has expressed an interest at signing for Stockport County.
County boss Jim Gannon told the Stockport Express that Simon`s agent had been in touch and that he was interested in a move closer to his Reddish home.
‘I am after another attacker, but Simon is 33 now so we will have to decide whether we wish to pursue anything,’ Gannon said.

Yeo is unhappy at being asked to take a cut in wages at Lincoln, and a move closer to his Reddish home would favour him as he is coming towards the end of his career.

Would be a good signing IMO for County should we get hold off Yeo, a man who certainly knows where the back of the net is.
Yeo and Bramble up front could be a really good pairing for us. If we can get Ward and Griffin aswell as Dindo and Yeo we would have quite a good team.

But Yeo know’s where the back of the net is and has wanted to come here before because it’s local. He has played well at Lincoln and I’m sure given the chance that alot of League Two teams would have him.

We will do better in this league next season, if we don’t sign Yeo it isn’t a disaster – we will still do well.
YEO! YEO! YEO! I remember him scoring his 50th goal for Lincoln at EP when they won 3-2 in Feb and the Lincoln fans all chanting that – I can imagine us chanting that when he scores his 3rd goal at Macclesfield away in front of 3,000 County fans!
Would be a fantastic signing, and for a player’s agent to contact us is a great thing – it shows that once again we are an attractive club.
Yep C4E, another attractive thing is the magnificent support we take all over the place. I propose Jim shows the new players the video of the support on the last day, and at Barnet away, Bury away, Chester away, Macclesfield away, Rochdale away and show them what our fans are about.
I think that Yeo is a good player, and he scores a few goals. I think he will be really good. I heard that his agent contacted us as well, it shows we are on the up!
