County take on Ebbsfleet United

We are off to Kent on Saturday to play at the Stonebridge Road ground in Northfleet to play Ebbsfleet United. A club formed by the merger of Gravesend United (originally formed in 1893) and Northfleet United (originally formed in 1890). They play in Red and white.

Wikipedia tell you all you want to know (and much of it you don’t) here

Ebbsfleet are three points and two places ahead of County in the league and have a mediocre home record having lost 4 of their 9 home games to date. No great shakes I bet, so can County with stand in manager Mc Stay, come back from the ‘Garden of England’ with anything? Haven’t a clue really, if McStay changes our style of play then why not? Stranger things have happened in football and maybe he could give himself a chance to become full time gaffer if he comes back with three points and then repeats the same next week at Fleetwood.

Not going to happen is it?

And what is Jim Gannon doing? And are these Ince/Mathias rumours pie in the sky? And as for Sale, I see that Salford Reds have installed blue seats at their new stadium. The flirting between Salford Reds and Sale Sharks appears to be getting more serious. The M.E.N reports on it here

So much up in the air at the moment. I will predict a 0-0 result and the air of uncertainty surrounding the club on and off the pitch to continue for a while yet.

Never an easy place to go. Ebbsfleet/Gravesend = dullest, gloomiest place in the UK! Lets hope the football brightens the place up – 2 – 0 County win and McJock hailed the caretaker hero!
