STOCKPORT County`s official match day commentaries will be provided by Pure 107.8 FM this season.

The club has signed a deal giving exclusive rights to Pure 107.8 FM as an official media partner.

The new show, ‘Pure County`, will include full match commentary of all Hatter`s games, home and away, as well as pre-match build-up and post-match reaction. There will also be a Friday night preview show.

Chief Executive Doug Cresswell said: “We are delighted to be bringing County to the people of Stockport for the first time on Pure. It demonstrates our commitment to be the only station to concentrate exclusively on Stockport.”

County`s Managing Director Mark Maguire said: “Stockport County has a commitment to be a true community football club, and Pure can help us to achieve this goal through their truly innovative projects. Pure has strong links with community groups throughout the town, and we can work together to continue to expand this network. We also believe their coverage will put County into even more homes and businesses across the borough.”

County commentator Jon Keighren has signed a deal to join Pure 107.8 FM this season and said: “This will be my tenth year as the voice of Stockport County and I am delighted to be joining such a fantastic organisation. Imagine FM did a great job for the Hatters, but I believe ‘Pure County` will take the coverage to the next level and provide fans with a service which is unrivalled in the Coca Cola League.”

Jon will be joined at every match by County`s Media Manager Des Hinks and Pure 107.8 FM`s News and Sport Editor Pete Liggins.

Des Hinks said: “We have hundreds of subscribers all over the world who rely on us to bring them full commentary of every game via the official County website, and we will be streaming the Pure 107.8 FM coverage to Hatters fans all over the globe.”

Pure 107.8 FM received its official broadcast license in 2005 and was launched live on September 13th 2006. It`s a part of Pure Innovations Limited, a not-for-profit company working across Greater Manchester providing opportunities for disadvantaged people to move into employment. Pure also helps local authorities to innovate and modernise the way they train and develop their services to disabled people.

I emailed Pure FM and asked whether they would be introducing streaming for the rest of their content so that those of us now living away from Stockport can listen to the preview show. They are receiving a large number of emails requesting it, but a few more wouldn’t hurt.

    E-mail them at studio@pureradio.org.uk
