Coventry manager Chris Coleman reckons Carl Baker isn’t too far away from making the move to the Championship club later next week.

Coleman did admit that negotiations aren’t ‘clean cut because County are in administration’, but the Welshman maintained that he still felt confident of a transfer window move for the County playmaker.

Coleman said: “He is a player I like but it is not clean cut because they are in administration. The chairman has had long discussions with them and as I understand it we are not a million miles apart so it would be nice if it could happen.”

Baker’s impending move will be the first of a ‘fire-sale’ for the hatters in what will prove to be a busy transfer window, with rumours already flying over who gaffer Gary Ablett will bring in if allowed. January will also see the completion of the long-awaited Melrose Consortium take-over. Hopefully. Possibly.

Who knows…
