Deals Agreed For FIVE Signings

Gary Ablett has been busy in the transfer window today, agreeing transfers for five players to come to Edgeley Park and hopefully debut tomorrow.

Four of those are from MK Dons, with defender Danny Swailes and speedy American winger Jemal Johnson both signing on free transfers, and winger Richie Partridge signing on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Also, Colchester midfielder David Perkins has signed on loan until the end of the season.

Perkins, a talented former Rochdale midfielder who missed out on playing against County in the play-off final due to suspension (and then turned down the Hatters a few months later), was unable to settle down south and wanted a return to the north-west after a loan spell at Chesterfield.

Johnson and Swailes failed to gain a first-team berth at Dons and so were let go from their contracts – both have signed 6 month deals with the Hatters.

Partridge, who County fans may remember tearing us apart for Chester in a 2-1 defeat at EP in our 2008 promotion season with two goals, has signed a loan deal that will run until the end of the season BUT does contain a recall clause.

Meanwhile, strong striker Jabo Ibehre has also joined from MK Dons on an emergency 28-day loan that can be extended.

Wow. Talk about busy day.

To make it simpler, Danny Swailes and Richie Partridge are both OUR players now. The other three are simple loan deals that will expire and see them return to their parent club come the end of the season. Or in Ibehre’s case, a month’s time (unless extended.) It is reported that Perkins is on a loan deal with a view to a permanent transfer.
