Liam Dickinson has today signed a new contract to extend his stay at Edgeley Park till at least May 2008.

Dickinson, who joined County in December from Woodley Sports, has scored 6 goals since joining from the Unibond League team.

With Premiership teams such as Wigan Athletic reportedly after Dickinson, County boss Jim Gannon was quick to get a contract on the table for him.

Dickinson is now concentrating on keeping County in the Football League and moving us up the table.

‘My main aim now is to stay in the team, carry on scoring and help County move further and further up the table,’ he told stockportcounty.com.

County boss Jim Gannon added “It’s great for the club and it’s a good deal for Liam,”

“If he continues working hard he will progress.

“He could be an excellent player because he’s young, he’s keen, he’s got the right attitude and it’ll be good to have him around as we rebuild the club.”
