Stockport start new year of 2012 with a home game against Barrow, this is the second of the back to back games across the Christmas period for The Hatters.

On Boxing Day County suffered a 1-0 defeat away to Barrow in a game decided by one corner, Stockport had chances to take something from the game but nothing came of it.

With a tough month facing The Hatters with financial targets needing to be met as well as six games including three away trips to Gateshead, Luton and Braintree Town. The game against Barrow will hopefully set a heading for the new year.

Barrow are currently sit 10th in the Blue Square Premier league this is 12 places above The Hatters with 18 points separating the two teams. Barrow have scored 37 goals this season whilst conceding 35 giving the club a goal advantage of +2.

On the road this season Barrow have played 12 games and have won 2, drawn three whilst loosing seven on their travels, Adam Boyes is Barrow’s top scorer with 12 league goals and 4 goals in the FA Cup giving the grand total of 16 goals this season.

Following the Boxing Day game against Barrow it looks like Jim will keep the midfield partnership of Joe Connor and Sam Sheridan in a partnership that really looked solid, Ryan Fraughan really looked like he added to the team with penetrating passes and good deliveries from set play giving a plus for the County side also giving The Hatters a little bit of shape for the first time under Jim.

It is not about magic or miracles for County at the minute but it is about putting in good performances in order to get results and trying to get us out of the relegation position in which we find ourselves for the third time in three seasons.

There are no new injury worries for County for the first game of 2012 but for the first time we will be without Halstead after his return to Blackpool, Aaron Cole is also available after County look like they will set up another month emergency loan for the player as Jim plans to thin out the County squad across the Transfer Period. Antonio German is still contracted to the club until January 2nd but it is unlikely he will be names in the squad for the New Years Day clash against Barrow.

Stockport have only won 8 home games in the last 32 months, lets hope for the start of 2012 this can change with the voice of Jim among us so get down to EP on Sunday for the best foot-balling action of 2012 and lets cheer on the boys.

I think County can get a result tomorrow and i feel they can beat Barrow 1-0 with a goal from Danny Rowe, I also predict the attendance to be 3234.
