Stokport County face Hereford away from home tomorrow down in the lovely town of Hereford… Edgar Street is County’s designation of choice for tomorrow with The Hatters looking to knock up back to back wins to push them up the league.

Hereford who are currently 10th in the BSP meaning that 4 places separate the two sides, with three points in it. Hereford have knocked up five wins in their last ten league games with one draw and four losses meaning they have taken, 16 points from their last ten games. County are in slightly worse from than the old league side with County only managing 1 win, five draws and four losses knocking up 8 points from 10 games.

County travel to hereford with some injury concerns! The Hatters will be without Danny O’Donnell (foot) and Joe Connor (shoulder), meaning new signing tom Eckersley will go straight into the squad. Both Danny Whitehead and Danny Hattersley will have fitness tests in the morning but could miss there game meaning that The Hatters might have to rely upon Hobson and Collins as they look to get a result from Edgar Street.

Jim Gannon said: ‘I’ve explained through my programme notes the way we’ve tried to approach away games. It may be seen as negative, but I think first & foremost we’ve got to go there and give ourselves a chance at winning games. They’re valuable points that we picked up at Newport, Braintree and Southport which is why we’re sitting in mid-table rather than down at the bottom. So when you win your home games, everything looks really good.

‘Hereford’s a tough place to go and get a result. We’ve had some tough journeys in the last month, we’ve got a few more to go before the season’s out. I think we’ve got good young players, we’ve prepared them well and we’re going to places and getting results as a consequence, so we’ll keep the good habits going.’

Vital Team Prediction:

King
Halls Fagbola Tunnicliffe Eckersley Newton
Turnbull Mainwaring Kenyon
Rowe Hobson Collins

Subs: Ormson, Brownhill, Sheridan, Nolan,

Vital Prediction:

I can see new signing Eckersley been given a chance tomorrow ahead of County’s trip to Edgar Street, this would allow Jim to keep the same shape he has been putting into action since the return of Turnbull and Mainwaring. I feel Matty mainwaring will have to start tomorrow, since his arrival we can see results not only improving but the midfield partnership with Turnbull improving massively, not only with the midfield looking stronger but with Newton and Mainwaring linking on the left hand wing.

Tomorrow I feel County can manage a away day draw. I’m going for a 1-1 draw with County conceding late on. I would love to see Hobson getting another goal for The Hatters, a pint is much needed tomorrow but of course a win will be sending me home happy.

Good article Josh, I’d gone for 0-0 but 1-1 will do. Hereford is a wonderful place been there on numerous occasions but never to Edgar Street. If the weather holds (not looking good from tonight’s forecast) a good day out will be had. Good luck to Jim and the boys.

What a great result! I was a bit edgy listening to Pure in the second half but 10th in the table is real progress. This is where I would have been happy with for the seasons end back in July. Now… is a play-off place still out of reach?

Listened as well on Pure, brilliant result. Did you have any probs with the transmission ’cause mine kept dropping out. Presumably you would listen via the local radio station whereas us ex pats have to listen via www. Anybody else having probs with County Player? This is an ongoing problem as I’ve been in touch with Phil Brennan and he’s forwarded his concerns to the company supplying this service. They in turn have contacted me and made a few suggestions and admittedly it has improved but still has its moments which when listening can be bl**dy frustrating.

PS have spoken with Pete Liggins at Pure and he says they only supply the commentary not the transmission.

Fine via 107.8 FM. Love the text-in afterwards as well. Very entertaining. Bad news you are getting drop-outs on County player.

A very good result – now is the time to kick on if we can. Wrexham in Wednesday are a very good side. A point will be decent. After that it is KIDDY at home, Lincoln away and BARROW at home. 7 points from those and we are top 8 ?
