Stockport County fans we salute you!

At least Chris Turner does. Turner has been at pains to praise the fantastic support County fans give, particularly on their travels. Almost 600 Hatters fans turned up at Hereford and Turner says

‘The fans turn up everywhere we go, they create an atmosphere, they had all those blue and white balloons today, they were fantastic. There’s nothing wrong with the supporters, it’s the football club and the team at times that let them down.’

Couldn’t agree more Chris. If you only watch your football on TV you will not appreciate the level of support County have received in the last few years. Life has been very unkind to County fans over the last few years but travel with the Blue Army! Blue Army! Blue Army! and you would never guess.

The forthcoming third round FA Cup clash with either Oldham or Brentwood also gets Chris Turner talking. Turner says ‘Some people are disappointed. They were hoping to see us paired up with City, United, Liverpool or Newcastle. That would have undoubtedly provided us with a quick fix financially but this is a winnable tie.’

I must say I was a little deflated with the draw and I hope Oldham make it through and bring a couple of thousand to EP to fill the clubs coffers and make add to the noise.
