Not too embarrassed myself, plenty of kids getting a decent run out. Interesting Gritton playing. Is Jim seeing whether Grittons legs hold out for 90 minutes. Or even 45? Surely he is not being looked at as an emergency centre back?
Kids getting a run out is great even if the don’t get a positive result. Getting games under the belt is very welcome for them. I would have liked to have kept a reserve team playing competitive matches to give the lads some thing to aim for. Not playing isn’t helping them now or for in the future. I realise that it would cost money but just think if a few were to move on to bigger and better clubs what the returns would be. You have to invest to get a return.
