Gannon Sacked Again

Jim Gannon has been sacked by Port Vale after a turbulent few months in charge at Burslem.

In his brief spell in charge at Vale Park, he got in a fight with assistant manager Geoff Horsfield, got kicked off the team coach, got into a spat with fans after a loss at Accrington, and took Vale from third in the league upon his arrival to 7th.

Gannon lasted just over two months at Vale.

First with his relegation at Peterborough, and now his unstable spell with Vale, it seems that he is getting revenge on all our old rivals during his spell as a player at Edgeley Park. Go get Stoke and Burnley now Jim!

Come home. By the way.

The ONLY way Gannon would work at County was a) we had a fair bit of dosh to pay him and enough to at least compete with other BSP clubs, and b) STRONG leadership at board level where Gannons contract was nailed down to the nth degree so that there could be no chance of a ‘misunderstanding’. Any performance related bonuses would have to be very ambitious too.

Just cannot see it happening. At the moment I can however see us being out of the league for a few years at best. Dark days.
