Rumours in the Hartlepool local rag have stated that Hartlepool United may be interested in County striker Anthony Elding.

Hartlepool were promoted from League Two last season and are currently 14th in League One with 30 points from 25 games.

Richard Barker is Hartlepool’s top scorer in the league this season, and he has just eight goals in the league.

Anthony Elding has 12 in the league this season and 14 overall.

Elding joined County last January for £55,000 from Boston United, and has scored 23 goals in 37 starts for County in just over a year.

The article states that County would want somewhere in the region of £150,000 for Elding.

Personally I don’t see much truth in the rumour, speaking to Elding on Saturday he seemed really happy at the moment and he is on target for his twenty goals per season – even looking at possibly 25.

Unless an offer of around £250,000 came in for Elding then I wouldn’t even listen.
