County say they hope to conclude deals by this weekend for three players, one of them being Sean McConville of Accrington.

McConville is close to accepting a contract offer from the Hatters after snubbing a deal at Accy. The 22-year-old is an attacking midfielder, who scored 14 goals for his side last season.

And SCFC have made deals for two other Scousers – Ryan Fraughan, formerly of Tranmere, and John Miles, who spent last season at Fleetwood.

Fraughan, 20, is a small central midfielder who appeared against County in the JPT last season for his club Tranmere.

Miles, who spent last season at Fleetwood, has been around the Football League for a while and made 122 appearances for Macclesfield – scoring in the Silkmens 6-0 thrashing of SCFC on Boxing Day, 2005.

The club have also confirmed an offer has been made to another striker, Leighton McGivern. The 27-year-old has been unattached since leaving Vauxhall Motors at the end of last season.

Rumours abound that one of Mr Evans bessie mates is one Stephen Vaughan of Chester City and Widnes RFLC fame and guess who comes out of clink next week! Article in todays Times says that Evans has denied that Vaughan is involved in his bid to buy the club – Ermmm??? What we dont need is any involvement from Vaughan!

  • scfcsam says:

Vaughan is in jail for 15 months. Also, Evans says he knows Vaughan but he isn’t involved. We’ll find out on the 15th.

Information overload. Whatever next, Kennedy sells us EP back for £2million to be paid over 10 years? ( I made that up by the way. ).

  • NorwikshireExiles says:

I shall be on pins for the next 6 weeks till mr Evans makes his mind up. Having said that, all the right noises seem to be coming out of EP so I am cautiously optimistic.

I think this season were all out attack by all the forwards he wants to bring in, we know we cant defend so lets out score the opposition, should make for a lively season..

… and I think Mathias has slung his hook too. Don’t blame him and feel a bit sorry for him. As for Wardy, County legend and the last 12 months or so is not going to obscure my memory of one of the next players ever to pull on a County shirt. Hope SCFC is still dear to him too.

As much as I feel for Peter & Ray and I agree with you Kid Charlemagne Peter is a legand and always will be in my eyes some of my best memorys as a County fan. I think the board have done the right think and had a complete break and fresh start with fresh idea’s. Bury’s comments are strange or true saying we have bidded know where the 100k been reported just a publicity stunt by County??
