It’s mid May, the blossom has been and gone. All quiet at Edgeley Park then?

Still no news from those sleeping shareholders. I guess what with the bulk of the season ticket money in, where’s the urgency? (Apologies for the cynicism)

No ‘marquee’ signings. (Apologies for the sarcasm)

Next seasons division 6 fixtures not out yet (Apologies for the truth)

Well, Ian Brown of Help The Hatters would argue otherwise. Ian writes;

As you will possibly know, Stockport County Supporters Cooperative, have agreed to join Help the Hatters in the usual twixt seasons Working Party`s at Edgeley Park.

These will again be taking place regularly this close season,certainly on Tuesday evenings , but also possibly on other nights of the week.

An assessment has been made of just what is needed to be done and , in conjunction with Graham Atkinson, these tasks will be sorted ,over the close season period.

The first Working Party is this coming Tuesday(May 20) commencing at 18.30, so if you can help please turn up for 18.30 at the Players Entrance on Hardcastle Road.

This first session will be mainly a clean up , so please come dressed accordingly, and if you have a spare brush/ shovel please bring it along.

These sessions are always conducted in a good spirit, and do invaluable work for the Club, so I hope to see you on Tuesday.

Regards.

Ian Brown

The clubs heart is still beating and you can bet that come the beginning of August Edgeley Park will be looking in fine fettle, ready for what has to be a much better season on the pitch.

  • Dear dear, cynicism and sarcasm, I don’t believe you mean that, well maybe. The money grabbers (sorry) obviously have better things to do with their cash and time rather than bail out our little club as you say their silence is deafening. Good to see the real County family once again turning out for the belief in their football club. Good luck and best wishes to you all. As it appears we may have a much better pitch can the same be said of the incoming players and will under the guidance of Al lift us from this den of mediocrity. Cheers from the Highlands.
