Ian Bogie – the new County Gaffer

Former Vale midfielder Ian Bogie replaces Darije Kalezic as manager of Stockport County.

So, ‘Bosnian Dave’ lasted 50 days in charge. We can now say that he was a terrible appointment and may have lost County their Conference Premier status. Is there time to turn things around?

Bogie was some fans favourite to succeed Gannon those few short weeks ago.

During Bogies five years as gaffer at Gateshead, he guided them to successive promotions in 2008 and 2009 from the Northern Premier League to the fifth tier of English football.

Impressive stuff.

He has agreed a contract at Stockport until the summer of 2014 and he faces promotion-chasing Newport on Saturday at Edgeley Park.

Well, I think this could be a very decent appointment – just wish it had been made a few weeks ago.

Can Bogie save us from the drop? No fault of his if we do lose that battle but we have a chance.

Being a County fan is not dull is it?

Good luck Ian – I am sure all County fans are behind you.
