Gary Johnson will be unveiled as Peterborough manager on Tuesday morning as Peterborough call a press conference to announce the arrival of the ex-Bristol City boss.

Jim Gannon will step aside on tomorrow morning as he promised to if a new manager was found before the end of the season.

Johnson was present at Peterborough’s 3-2 defeat at home to Newcastle on Saturday to get a look at his new side, and Gannon said he would recommend the 53-year-old for any job.

Jimbo turned down a four-year contract at London Road and now finds himself out of work and returning home to Stockport for the birth of his second child.

Johnson said: ‘There’s a press conference on Tuesday and I’ll be disappointed if it’s not me sitting in the seat.’

United can be relegated today.

Come home Jimboooooooooooooooooo.
