Jim Gannon has been rather busy in the transfer market this week, after announcing today that he is looking to bring in around 6 players this summer.

With the full season not over yet, Jimbo certainly isn?t wasting any time.

Gannon, speaking to the Stockport Express, said: “We have agreed to sign one player, a midfielder, but right now we can?t make any more progress until he undergoes a medical once our physio returns from holiday.

“I am looking at bringing in five or six players in total, but a number of issues are getting in the way at the moment, including players being away on holiday.

“I have had some positive feedback from targets, but it takes time to arrange meetings with players and agents. We?ve been speaking to Jamie Ward and Adam Griffin about those two possibly staying with us, while I?ve also spoken to two central midfielders, a centre-half and a centre-forward.

“We?re also keen to bring in a goalkeeper on a year-long loan deal.”

Jimbo also said that the pre-season routine is going to be changed slightly to keep the players fit this year.

“We want the lads to do some part-time training for four or five weeks, under the guidance of our two fitness coaches.

“It?s an unusual step, but it?s all about making sure the players keep themselves in shape.?

I don?t know about the rest of you, but maybe it is actually ok to feel confident about next season this time around?

  • Fantastic news. Two central midfielders? I reckon one of them is good old Dindo! Add Ward + Griffin to Dindo and we have a VERY VERY good midfield! Who could this striker be?

  • My expectations for next season is top 10 at least. Maybe a play-off push! Can’t wait for the new season already!

  • This is why this guy is an absolute legend. 10 days after the end of the season? 8 working days, and he’s talking to 6 players aswell as sorting out his own contract.
Make sure he is at this club for life.
