County kick off their huge Easter weekend with a trip to Lincoln, hoping to bring an end to their run of five games without a win.

Despite Lincoln and County being 5th and 6th respectively, they are both in bad form recently. Lincoln have won just one in the last seven, County have won two games in that period.

After breaking the Football League record County have suffered a miserable slump in form, conceding 16 goals in the last 5 games.

The fixture earlier in the season resulted in a 2-0 win for County. Lincoln were top of the league at the time, and County produced a magnificent performance with second half goals from Michael Rose and Michael Malcolm securing the deserved victory.

Vital Quotes:

Jim Gannon: ‘We’ve tried to make sure we get as few suspensions as possible and keeping the fitness levels high, making sure we have the best team available, but you can’t legislate for this sort of thing.

‘But Wycombe have lost two centre-halves so we’re not the only team suffering.’

‘Lincoln are a good side who can play excellent football,’

Lincoln striker Jamie Forrester: ‘If you had asked me before the season had started, I wouldn’t have mentioned Stockport as a team to look out for,’

‘I don’t think many other people would have tipped them to be up there either.

‘But once we had played them and they beat us 2-0, my opinion of them changed.

‘They are probably one of the best sides we have faced this season and beat us quite comfortably at their place.

‘The good thing for us is they come here not in the best of form and it’s up to us to take advantage of that.

‘We’ve got to be on the front foot from the first whistle and take the game to them.’

Lincoln City Team News:

Lee Frecklington is a doubt for Lincoln City after picking up an injury in the week.

Adie Moses will probably miss out once again with an ankle injury.

On loan Luton midfielder Peter Holmes should once again feature.

Player to watch: Jamie Forrester

Ashley Williams kept the little striker quiet at Edgeley Park in November, but with County conceding 16 in the last 5 the defence’s confidence isn’t as high as it was back then.

Williams will be man marking the 17 goal striker once again and it will be an interesting battle.

Stockport County Team News:

County have got a doubt over Tes Bramble after he turned up to training with a groin injury on Monday.

Rob Clare and Michael Raynes are also rated doubtful after being strechered off with injury last weekend at Torquay.

Michael Rose, Michael Bowler, Keith Briggs & James Tunnicliffe are all injured and will play no part.

Player to watch: Adam Proudlock

The striker has been out of action for a while, but he will be looking to prove to the County fans that he is back and ready to fire.

He was in hot form before Christmas, and Proudlock will be looking to regain that at Lincoln today.
