Macc Calling Out For Local Derby

Macclesfield Town are calling out for the people of Macclesfield to turn up and support their team for the local derby against County a week on Saturday.

County sold out their allocation of 2400 six weeks before the game, but so far Macclesfield have only sold 730 tickets to go with their 800 season ticket holders.

Not wanting to sound like a City fan, but the County fans outnumbered the Macclesfield fans last season and at the Johnstones Paint Trophy earlier this season, so once again it looks like a similar situation could occur.

So if your a neutral reading this, or you support one of the local non-league sides, then get yourself up to Macclesfield and get a ticket. Even just to support both the teams and watch what is going to be a pivotal game for both sides.

However, Macclesfield captain Dave Morley seems to have got his head mixed up ‘It’s hard not to forget the Boxing Day match. The crowd really got behind us that day and quickly silenced the large away following. The fans really were the extra man that day,’

Perhaps we were quiet Dave because we were getting beat 6-0, but as I recall we were actually quite loud in our protests…

Can’t blame him though, the County attack gave him that much to do that day that he could have fell asleep and it still would have been 6-0.
