Spencer Fearn has today admitted that although he accepts some fans will be annoyed, Manchester City could regularly rent out Edgeley Park for reserve and youth games.

In a move that shows completely how out of touch Fearn must be with the fans he has said ‘The Hatters will benefit from any rent charged for the fixtures.’

Fans inital reaction has seen most threatening to ‘walk out’ on County should that move be made permanent.

We will bring more as it comes.

Cant see the problem myself. We were happy enough for stands and even our beloved Edgeley Park to be renamed after sponsors. I fully expected to be sitting this season in the Silly Billy Burger Stand or something akin. Theyve got money, we desperately need money, seems ok to me so long as it doesnt interfere with our games. So lets squeeze as much as we can out of them. Perhaps they can theow in a couple of defenders and a keeper as well. God knows we need them.

Not for me NE. I’d rather the buckets came out at half time for each game than this.

First, good to see a bit of life on this site again. I have missed the flow of news. Second, regarding this bit of news… is this now where the club is at? Beggars can’t be choosers is it? Sickening having to rely on the Arabs.

Problem we have is we need an Arab. How does Ethiad Park sound on their match days. We might even get Ballotelli when he has a bitch with Mancini. Sorry NE as much as I like you sentiment I sooner have Leeds United and I hate that outfit with a vengeance.

Welcome back Vital. If Man C want to give us money for using the ground it is excellent news, we need all the money we can get at the moment to even survive in this league let alone going up. Remember the days when the MC full team used to come and we beat them? Any chance do you think that it may help JG loan some of their players?

We cant afford to be proud. When there are players out there that would rather go to a part time club cos the pay is better than coming to us full time, beggars cant be choosers. I’d rather take their money than drop further down the pyramid. Gates are falling therefore revenue. This could provide a few thousand, buckets well maybe a couple of hundred if were lucky. Dont get me wrong I dont like the idea but we have to be realistic, at least till success returns (and it will, eventually) and gates start to rise again. Lets face it we have the usual chicken and egg scenario where there are supporters out there who wont go to games until we have some success but we wont get success until we get more revenue from increased gates!!!

Can’t disagree with the logic NE and IGP. Feel sick about it (though I suppose it could be winter-vomiting virus).

I fully agree with NE we need the cash and quickly if we are to progress. Buckets are fine but it needs larger contributions. I am not happy for this to be a long term thing but like what has been said beggars can’t be choosers at the moment. Bring on the time when we are back in the league then we can hopefully have our own destiny in our own hands.
