Manager Didi Hamann has chosen ex-Celtic coach Willie McStay as his new assistant at Edgeley Park as Ray Mathias opts to leave.
McStay, who had a winless spell in charge at Ross County last season, will join Hamann’s revolution this week.
Mathias, departing the club after 7 months, said to BBC Radio:
“I’m a little bit sad but I enjoyed my time there.”
“It was absolutely fantastic, a lovely family club – the fans were absolutely brilliant, I couldn’t ask for any more from them.”
“I had a good rapport with the fans and with everybody round the football club and I was absolutely delighted when I got the job.”
“I would have worked my socks off to try and get them back in the Football League.”
Good luck to Ray wherever he goes in the future.

Its a shame Ray wasn’t treated better than what he was. I’ve got no doubt that he’d have have given it a flaming good shot at getting us straight back – good Luck Ray.
All the best Ray, you deserved to be treated better.
Surely we could of used Ray as a Scout as he knows all about the conference, all the best Ray, good luck..
Just read about Willie has a good record apart from his post so fingers crossed he canbring the youth on at EP and maybe get some good lads down from Celtic. All the best Willie you have my full support
