More news on a great new event organised by Mark White, the creator of CountyUnite, the fantastic website based on raising funds for the County players.

The 5-a-side tournament at Powerleague in Stockport on Sunday the 28th March is gaining a lot of interest and bookings, with over 25 teams booking their place so far.

The tournament, which begins at roughly 12 noon, is open to all ages and costs just a tenner per person.

And as an extra incentive, the winning team will be invited by boss Gary Ablett to the training ground to be put through their paces with the squad and play an 11-a-side match against the County!

And if that isn’t enough, you can line up against Ablett and his side in the tournament, as the Scouse manager has entered a team including Richard Landon, Craig Madden and Paul Gerrard.

AND…owner-to-be Jim Melrose has also entered a ‘Manchester City; side into the tournament, including former Blues stoper Andy Dibble…so get down there and get the old rivalry juices flowing.

You can register on the CountyUnite website or the County club shop, but registration closes on the Sunday the 14th of March. A maximum of 48 teams will be allowed in this fantastic event, and all the monies raised go to new equipment for the Hatters squad.

So get entering, and I’ll see you there.

  • Well, this is a good start. A nice gesture. Hope the owners keep this up. Proof of pudding will be AFTER the PR excercise for next season season tickets. THen we will see the owners true colours I feel….

  • Remeber though boys and girls, Mr Melrose is City and Celtic through and through. Please be gentle when you tackle him!

Keep up with these regular new updates editor. Good for County fans worldwide to feel like they are in touch. My Vancouver based brother is a recent convert to Vital County.
