Stockport County left back Michael Rose has signed a new contract with the club after successful negotiations have taken place.

Rose becomes the second player to agree a new deal, along with Matty McNeil.

Michael was out of contract in a month and it was hopeful that he would agree a new contract.

It will be Rose’s first full season if he can avoid an injury, with a cruciate ligament injury ruling out the last few months of the 06/07 and the start of the 07/08 campaigns.

However he has still made 47 league starts, and scored an impressive six goals for a left back.

Rose has become County’s free kick specialist, and has scored some important goals in the season just gone to help County too promotion.

After being released by Manchester United at an early age, Rose has played at Chester City, Hereford United, Yeovil Town, Cheltenham Town and Scunthorpe United before settling at County.

We wish Michael a successful 2008/2009 season in the County blue in League One!
