Mike Newton, who withdrew his interest in buying County a few weeks ago, has now seen his right-hand man and proposed Chief Executive Graham Shaw be appointed as the CEO at County anyway!

Shaw left his job at a lawyer firm to join Newton in his quest to take-over The Hatters, but when the move failed to materialise, the 2015 Group moved to appoint Shaw swiftly anyway.

A statement on Cows read:

Stockport County are pleased to announce the appointment of Graham Shaw as the club’s new Chief Executive Officer. Graham will begin work at Edgeley Park on Wednesday 6 April.

Graham first came to the attention of the Board of Directors and Shareholders during the recent takeover negotiations with Mike Newton, as he was the proposed new CEO/Director of Football should the takeover have gone through.

Lets hope that Mike knows a few people that may have some money to invest into the club. Is this perhaps the start of rebuilding our once great little club? I hope so and the sooner the better. Good luck in your new position Mike.

Funny story. That is what you get when you don’t invest Mr Newton. If you had invested then he would have work, but because you didn’t, he didn’t have work, now he does. Welcome Mike Shaw, help the club re-build, get on the phone to whoever wins the Euro Millions and tell them to invest invest invest!

Forgive me for being a little sceptical on this one but, if Newton had bought the club Shaw would be CEO, as it turns out he didn,t invest but Shaw is still appointed CEO. I am not questioning Graham Shaw’s ability to look after our affairs, but how he got there seems a bit iffy???????????

It feels like the first stone has been laid in our new foundation. Newton’s man – wonder if he is in there to monitor what is happening so Newton can make a better informed decision over the next few months? Anyway, as just a fan I have no way of knowing what is best for our club with the exception of owning EP and our own destiny again. York away on a Saturday not in winters is just about all I can look forward to right now.

Some good news with Hereford being docked 3 points and having played the same number of games as County – interesting!!

    Where’s the match report?

Thought we were excellent second half against Stevenage, gave them a real run for their money – so unlucky not to get all three points.

It’s now Wednesday and still no match report. What is happening with the site? Has it been made redundant even before we finish this dismal season? Come on EDD lets get up to date……
