Andy Nicholas has stated that he will NOT be leaving the County Ground, and will be staying with Swindon Town – meaning that he will not be joining Stockport County.
Vital Stockport reported first that County were interested in taking Nicholas from Swindon, and talks have taken place about a possible move since the initial report.
But Nicholas, speaking to the Swindon Advertiser said: ‘No disrespect to Jim Gannon and Stockport because they are a very good football club, but I want to stay at Swindon,’
It is now likely that Nicholas will sign a new deal to remain in League One with Swindon Town today.

Ah well. We’ve got Michael Rose at left back when he returns, we’ve got Williams, Owen, Raynes, Tunnicliffe & Clare who can play at centre back. We’ve also got Dinning who can cover and Griffin who can play left back. It’s the right back that needs sorting.
