Results of the Stockport County Vital Football Goal of the Season poll are confirmed, and the winner is…

God, we score some great goals!

In a special Vital Stockport Goal Of The Season award ceremony, I?m going to introduce each goal in a Brit Awards style thing.

Hamshaw V Boston: It was literally Hamshaw V Boston, as he picked up the ball on the left and ran inside towards the top corner of the penalty area and swung a shot in which clipped the top right hand post and went in.

Boshell V Sheff Wed: Quick free kick from Ross Greenwood from the near the left corner flag foxed the Sheffield Wednesday defence and Boshell was free at the left edge of the box. He hit a thunderbolt into the top corner and the keeper had no chance.

Bramble V Northampton: Getting very very scrappy in the box, and the ball gets hoofed out by the Northampton defence but only as far as Mark Robinson who hoofs the ball back in. ?Gerrit on the floor? people were shouting, how about the back of the net instead? Because that?s where it ended up when Bramble pulled off a fantastic overhead kick (even Thierry Henry wouldn?t have been able to do this)

Wolski V Hereford: He scored a fantastic goal against Grimsby earlier in the season, but that didn?t make it into the six because this one knocked it out. On the volley from about 40 yards out and it snuck into the bottom corner.

Easter V Rochdale: Booooooooo a few of you may be shouting now, but this goal may have been the goal that kept us up. The pitch was awful, and one goal would easily be enough for the win and turn our fortune around. Hamshaw plays a wonderful ball into Easter at the edge of the box, he flicks it up and does an overhead scissor kick over the keeper and into the back of the net.

Hamshaw V Wycombe: Tim Lovejoy called it a ?Lovejoy? moment, it was about 30 yards out and Hamshaw just hit it on the volley. It flew over the keeper and into the top right hand corner of the net.

The poll has been running for a month, and we?ve had over 5,000 votes so here are the results?

In joint 4th place: Boshell V Sheffield Wednesday and Wolski V Hereford. Both get 7% off the votes.

In 3rd place: Hamshaw V Boston, this one gets 10% of the votes.

In joint 2nd place: Easter V Rochdale and Hamshaw V Wycombe. Both of these get 25% of the votes.

And the winner is?. Tes Bramble V Northampton Town. He picked up 26% of the votes, and shades the win by 1%.

Thanks to everyone who voted over the past month..

The next poll is to ask which position we need to improve in during pre-season? The 4 options are obvious, and you can vote on the right hand side of the site now!
