Preston in the Carling Cup – return of Fergie Jnr

Perhaps the clearest indication that everything has gone through and is fine, the first fixture of the 2010/2011 season is announced.

County will get to face Darren Ferguson again and bring out those infamous songs, but this time we will have a much sterner task on our hands against Preston North End at Edgeley Park.

Preston finished 17th last season in the Championship.

The game will be more than likely played on the first Tuesday of the season, with a 7:45pm kick off the most likely option.
