Red Rebels at Edgeley Park

Fresh from a decent performance (though a narrow defeat ) against St Mirren, County take on FC United of Manchester at Edgeley Park tonight (Tue 30th July). Kick off is 7:45.

An interesting fixture, both from a playing perspective and from a novelty factor for me.

As opposition, FCUM are a Northern Premier League Premier Division side, so one league below County and perhaps close to the standard we will face this season.

As a novelty, FCUM should bring decent numbers of travelling support, and create a good atmosphere. I get the feeling that this match is more exciting for them than us – for me, playing the ‘Red Rebels’ on nearly equal terms just underlines how far we have sunk as a club.

Still, a decent gate all brings a few quid to add to our depleted coffers.

I am hoping we get a win and get that clean sheet we have missed out on so far!
