Now, I’m not one of those rabidly anti the County board fans. I have my concerns and suspicions of course but would love to buy Spencer Fearn a pint in the Florist as ask ‘ Hey Spence, just what is your
interest in County?’.
If an honest response did not include the words ‘Land Deal’ and ‘New Ground’ I’d be a bit happier. I have no problem with Mr Fearn making a few quid if he does right by the fans and looks after Stockport County
Football Club. So I will suspend my ire over the recent shambolic decisions regarding managers and players in and players out on loan and try to be positive for a moment.
* clears throat *
Here is some positive news.
First up. The board have announced reduced prices for coach travel to our last three away games.
Alfreton, Gateshead and Kidderminster.
Just a tenner a person. A good offer this – though what happens if several hundred want to get the coach to Kiddy ? It could happen if we need to go there and get something. The away end at Kiddy holds
1500 or so.

Anyway, this is as a ‘thank-you’ from the board to our dedicated away support. Who knows, that extra volume of noise from the travelling blue and white army may just make the difference?
More positive news.
Let’s Fill Edgeley Park!.
The club have decided to discount entry for the Dartford game at Edgeley Park on Saturday 13th April to just £8 for adults, £5 concessions and £1 for juniors.
No gripes from me – this is exactly what we need. If we can get 6,000+ inside the ground for our last remaining home game of the season, surely this will help in what really is a must-win game.
Own a newsagent or shop? There is a poster that can be downloaded here which promotes this initiative.
So, from me, and for the time being only, well done the County board. I just hope the essence of what it means to be a County fan begins to permeate those who are current custodians of the club.

I just hope all the “lapsed” County fans turn up to shout the lads on.
I’m flying over especially from Spain for the game, so if I can fly 2,800 miles round trip, surely it’s not too much for “ex” County fans to make the effort.
Great effort Dave. Hope the weather over here has thawed out for you. I reckon a 6,000 gate if word spreads. Out with a few County ‘characters’ of yesteryear on Friday so will spread the word about the discounted entrance fee. Hope to see the return of a few old and ugly mugs.
