Now, I know there are those who will not buy a season ticket whilst our CEO (Ryan McKnight) is in place.

There are those who will not buy a ticket with any of our current board in place.

I am not one of them. I have not had a season ticket for a couple of years. Could not stomach the dire fare on offer. If that makes me a lesser fan than some others then fine.

Looking at the price structure though, and having a 5 year old and an 11 year old, I can see the walk-up matchday prices are not bad. A lad and his young lad and older lad in for £19.

Yep. I can go with that.

Me on my own, £15 for BSN football, hmmm…. perhaps a touch too expensive but again, I will just about accept that.

So, count me in and my two lads for daytime kick-offs and me on my Lee Todd for the odd midweek night game.

Thinking back to that Dartford game where the gate was 6,000 plus, many of my ‘hard-core’ County supporting mates of many years did not go.

I wonder if that was typical? And if so, who were the extras that made up the 6,000?

Well, judging by the well-spoken families I saw in the Main Stand at least, I think there was a component of perhaps Premiership supporting parents with their kids who could afford the promotional prices and made it a day out. Pity what was on offer was so pathetic.

Nevertheless, I think, in the same way Wigan Athletic’s relatively low prices attract non Wigan football fans wanting to watch Premier League football, then this bargain child price may attract families wanting a football day out.

I could be wrong but I would love to see this walk-up match day offer of a dad / mum and her lads / daughters given good exposure.

So here’s to a season where we win more than we lose (especially at home) and a season where we average around 2,750 (?) and begin to hook in the next generation of fans.

Wow. Optimism. Must be going down with something….

p.s. Have you heard Spencer Fearn’s (vice chairman and major shreholder of SCFC) interview?

It is 10 minutes long and you can see it vicman says:

Have seen it, have to say not impressed and haven’t we heard all this before just further up the league table?

  • Kenjax says:

Following the most awful moment in County’s history, you would think SOMEBODY at the club would have resigned/be sacked. But no. Why is CEO Ryan McKnight still there?
