Staines v County

Jim Gannon has the biggest problem he’s possibly faced as County boss. On Loan keeper Conrad Logan is not available for selection, and Chris Adamson has just recovered from a spinal injury but now has flu.

The game is being broadcasted live on Sky TV, which will mean a good pay day especially for Staines.

Town will be looking to cause a massive (get it?) upset in their biggest game ever. There will be a bumper crowd at the Wheatsheaf tonight.

Vital Quotes:

Jimbo: ‘The odds looked stacked against us. Especially as Staines were able to call off their league game against Thurrock and have a weekend’s rest.’

‘The TV cameras are there looking for an upset. But I know what my players are made of. The more adversity is thrown at them, the better they respond.’

‘We’ve been fantastic away from home. We’ve been well-organised, worked hard and we’ve looked a threat. We hope we’ll be the same tonight.’

Marc Charles-Smith(Staines Scorer): ‘I can’t wait for the replay. If we play like we did in the first match we’ll have every chance.’

Staines Team News:

Midfielder Andre Scarlett will be looking for a start tonight after staking his claim in the Senior Cup win over North Green United. Howard Newton and defender Adam Thompson are fit after Thompson recovered from hamstring pulls. He was dropped for the draw at The Park.

Leigh Mason is still out with a broken metatarsal.

Player to watch: Mark Nwojeki

Nwojeki has already scored 14 goals competitively this season, as well as 5 in pre-season. He shouldn’t be taken lightly tonight. He set up the equaliser in the first ‘leg’ and caused Paull Tierney and Michael Bowler all kinds of problems.

County Team News:

Ash Williams is still a matter of weeks away from recovering from his medial ligament damage.

Jim Gannon will be sweating to find out if Chris Adamson is fit to fill in for Conrad Logan who is unallowed to play from parent club Leicester.

Player to watch: Adam Proudlock

With the game being viewed in front of millions of people live, will Proudlock finally be able to produce the talent he has shown in glimpses to the County faithful? Tonight is the best stage for Proudy to show his ability.

Match Odds

Staines – 9/2
