Statement from the Chairman

Lord Peter Snape has finally spoken on the ongoing negotiations between Tony Evans and the Board of Directors over a deal to buy-in to the club.

Negotiations between Tony Evans and his colleagues and the current Board of Directors/Shareholders’ representatives are both amicable and ongoing and all sides are working to guarantee the future of this great football club.

It is hoped that agreement can be reached by the end of this month and in the meantime can I appeal to all our supporters to continue to support Stockport County in the unique and wholly committed way that they have demonstrated over the years despite the recent disappointments.

We are about to start a new season with a new manager, a new strip, and virtually a new team. The management team and the players are determined to show us all that our town has a football club we can be proud of once again. They know from the pre season friendlies the pride and passion all of us who support Stockport County feel for our football club. Let this coming season be the start of our long climb up the ladder of success.

Animo et Fide.

Lord Peter Snape.

Fans had been critical of Snape and the board’s silence on the matter, and we have finally seen a reply.
