Stockport County 0-0 Woodley Sports

Stockport County visited Lambeth Grove tonight for an Under 21 friendly, and this time it was actually Under 21s.

Gary Dicker made his debut for Stockport County, Chris Coward, Tommy Rowe and Gianluca Havern also played.

The game was really dull, not much to report. The referee was possibly the most jobsworth ever and fancied to take the attention and blow up at every opportunity, effectively he wrecked the flow of the game.

County should have had a penalty when Chris Coward was brought down, but this time the referee waved play on.

Coward then went close with a one on one chance, he was obviously being pulled back but the referee failed to notice it. Coward still got a toe to the ball and it slid across the face of goal.

That was the only real action of the first half as County wasted a lot of the ball in the final third.

Gary Dicker was one of a few players to come off at half time, he failed to make an impact on the game, but played well in midfield.

In the second half Woodley had the best chance of the game, but it was well saved by County’s substitute goalkeeper. The follow up was an open goal but the Woodley striker failed to connect with the ball.

And that was it, probably all there was to report on the game. Not really very interesting for the 300 or so County fans, but it was a good run out for Gary Dicker and the younger lads.

County visit Crewe on Saturday for their final first team friendly before the big-kick off in a week.
