Greg McDermott and Paul Marshall have both joined Stockport County on non-contract terms today.

McDermott, central midfielder, and Marshall, wide midfielder, have both agreed short term deals with a view to longer deals should they have successful starts at Edgeley Park.

Greg McDermott, 21, comes from Newcastle United after being released in January.

Paul Marshall, 23, comes from Halifax, and again was released recently.

It gives County more midfield options, with Alex Kenyon suspended still, and Joe Connor out of favour. Sam Sheridan didn’t do much to impress last week, so both could be included either tonight or this weekend.

It is not yet known whether either will feature tonight.

Don’t know what to think. Can’t keep up with the ever-changing squad of players. At my age I long for the 1-11 on the pitch and number 12 on the bench!

Two more midfielders then! Maybe the new manager thinks that the defence is fine after all!
