Stockport County Update

Ok so while I`ve been away a few things have happened.

Firstly, the Friday night games have been confirmed by the Football League. That means that our home game against Accrington Stanley has been moved to Friday August 18th at 7:45pm, and our away game against Chester City has been moved to Friday November 17th at 7:45pm.

Secondly, the pre-season friendly prices have been confirmed for the games against Leicester City and Tranmere Rovers at Edgeley Park.

You can get into the game on the day for £10 (adults) and £3 (concessions). The game against Leicester City is on the 21st July (which is also a Friday) with a 7:45pm kick-off and the game against Tranmere Rovers is on July 29th (Saturday) with a 3pm kick-off.

Match reports on both games will be up on the site after the games.

Thirdly, James Spencer has put all doubts about his contract to bed after he signed a new two-year deal.

Spencer has been at County all his life, and made his debut four years ago against Watford in Division One (was it only four years ago?!) and has since made 87 appearances for County.

Fourthly (is there a fourthly?!) James Tunnicliffe has signed his first professional contract at Stockport County.

The young defender who went on trial at Liverpool and Southampton last season has signed a two-year contract running till 2008.

Tunnicliffe said it was right for him to be here as the club was going in the right direction.

“It`s right for me to be here at the moment and since Jim`s come in the club has really gone in the right direction.”

And lastly, the longest running transfer decision (2 months) that Jamie Ward will probably ever make has been made and its not good. Jamie has joined Torquay United on a 3-year contract.
