Tamworth Inflict Injury Time Agony

Another away game. Another draw. In fact another 1-1 draw extending this run of one all away results to six.

Tamworth, Newport, Telford, Lincoln, Kidderminster, Forest green.

The concensus of opinion is that County could have gone on to win by 2 or 3 if they had continued pushing after Chadwick put County ahead on 48 minutes, deflecting a McConville shot into the net. Instead of pushing on County fell back deeper and deeper, inviting Tamworth on.

The other major incident was the loss of McConville who broke his collar-bone. I believe that will result in about an 8-week lay off.

The gate at Tamworth was 1300 with 550 County fans in attendance.

The starting XI: Glennon, Blackburn, Holden, O’Donnell, Piergianni, McCann, Paton (Nolan), McConville (Rowe), Elliott (German), Sheridan, Chadwick.

On the bench: Ormson, Nolan, Brahim-Bounab, German, Rowe.

This result leaves us just below mid-table. My view is that it is still early days in Didi’s reign. I think we are one decent goal-scorer away from getting into the play-off positions. So no panic. Lets start racking up a few wins at home and we will be OK.

Fleetwood town tomorrow night (Tuesday 27th), a tough game – surely not another 1-1? Then onto Saturday for a home fixture with old friends York City. Another tough game, York I expect to be up there at the end of the season.

Sorry for the brief nature of the report, I listened to it on Pure. This is also my publishing debut. The excellent Vital Stockport editor (Sam) has had to step down due to pressures of work and study and I have taken on the site, on a trial basis until someone with greater writing skills and a love of County takes over.

If anyone has any idea for new features please mail me at stockport@vitalfootball.co.uk.

Always County and always proud.
