It was exactly what I wanted! Chelsea to win but West Ham to score, and thus ensure that Chelsea don’t break County’s record that we only set a month ago!
So when Carlos Tevez equalised for West Ham I was pleased, and then just as equally pleased to see Chelsea scored straight away to make it 2-1!
Chelsea had gone the previous eight games without conceding in the league, picking up maximum points.
Chelsea 1-0 Spurs
Watford 0-1 Chelsea
Chelsea 3-0 Sheff Utd
Man City 0-1 Chelsea
Portsmouth 0-2 Chelsea
Chelsea 3-0 Middlesbrough
Charlton 0-1 Chelsea
Chelsea 3-0 Blackburn
Hopefully Chelsea will go and win the title now!

As all good journalists say never let the facts spoil a good story. This is infact a non-story. County’s record is Football League record whereas Chelsea’s would have been a Premiership record. You may not have noticed that we are not in the Premiership.
The Premiership is still included. Why did Arsenal beat the Football League record when they went a season unbeaten? Division One, Two, Three, Four. Thats how it used to be.
The record is for the English professional game, not specific to the Football League.
