The Player Budget Fund

With the new season almost upon us, Stockport County Supporters Cooperative have been busy gearing up for the challenges ahead.

You will know of the excellent idea born in the head of Steve Gibbons and taken further by the Supporters Cooperative in close cooperation with Help the Hatters- The Player Budget Fund.

Via `donate buttons` on http://helpthehatters.co.uk, and http://hedgegrower.blogspot.com, the Fund has started to move, and is attracting donations.

We would urge supporters who have not yet donated to the fund, to do so if they can, and if they could commit to a standing order that would be particularly welcome.

With this in mind the Coop is working on a `donate button` on the Supporters Coop website http://www.supporterscoop.co.uk, and hopefully positive news will be forthcoming this week on this.

The Supporters Coop is also in the process of forging links with Stockport based, homeless support charity The Wellspring, which will be the Coop`s chosen charity for the year.

The charity do excellent work, and news of how you can get involved can be obtained from http://www.thewellspring.btck.co.uk

And….Finally……..focusing on this coming Saturday 9 August, the home game against North Ferriby, there will be a Supporters Coop stall within Edgeley Park, where there will be leaflets to distribute and a bucket collection, and other stuff.

So…… volunteers are urgently needed for this enterprise.

Anyone who can help on match day should turn up at the Players Entrance at 2p.m.

Please help if you can!

Great charity tie-up. County should be cementing itself as much as it can in the local community. Players fund… assuming you cannot do both, what is more useful to the club if one has to chose from donating to the Gold Bond or donating to the Players fund ?
