Tooting/Eastbourne Borough At EP

County have drawn Tooting & Mitcham or Blue Square Premier side Eastbourne Borough at home in the first round proper of the FA Cup.

Now I admittedly had to do a bit of Googling to find anything out about Tooting & Mitcham, and they are a semi-professional football club who merge the two South London towns of Tooting and Mitcham. Obviously.

Known as The Half-half’s because of the merge.

Anyway, I’ll predict a County/Eastbourne clash at EP on the week commencing the 11th November, in a very slippery tie for the Hatters.

A real potential banana skin, but Gary Ablett will be very confident of making it through to the second round.

But then again, Jim Gannon probably felt the same when we drew Staines Town…

I went to the tooting/eastbourne game on saturday. You are unfortuate not to be facing Tooting. They turned up with a sense and purpose, got an early goal, conceded int he 2nd half and got kicked about until the 75th minute when as a team they looked huniger, fitter, better players than the team a division above them.

at 3-1 up on 89 minutes they just stopped playing and that is why Eastbourne will win at home tonight. Tooting must be haunted by they own hard work going to waste on Saturday. If you meet Eastbourne, just ask one of their fans ‘how lucky were you away at Tooting and Mitcham?’ if they dont rpely ‘very’ they are lying.
