Transfer Merry-Go-Round – Norwich/Swindon/Watford

The transfer merry-go-round at Edgeley Park is well and truly underway tonight as deals in and out of EP are being manoeuvred for a number of players.

Firstly, after many media outlets running the story, it appears that the ‘Michael Rose to Norwich’ rumours are true for a nominal fee, with Sky Sports reporting that Rose (playing through a hernia) has agreed personal terms with the Canaries. Rose would join ex-Hatter Oli Johnson at Carrow Road.

The space freed up by Rose in the limited 20-man squad may go to replacement left-back Mat Sadler from Watford, who apparently is an impressive talent but can’t break into the first team at Vicarage Road.

Also, we understand that despite interest from Plymouth and Colchester, Doncaster have made a bid for defender Johnny Mullins.

A swoop for the County Player Of The Year last season would free up a space in the squad for striker Lee Peacock of Swindon Town, as Gary Ablett was denied in his efforts to sign Warren Feeney and/or Tommy Wright of Cardiff and Aberdeen respectively. Wright turned down a 6-month contract with the Hatters and may go on to join struggling Grimsby.

County are also reported to be after Leeds winger Andy Robinson if wages can be negotiated on a short-term loan deal.

Blimey.
